Throughout this past semester, the brothers of Phi Lambda Theta hosted a number of events geared toward improving the social scene at Bucknell. These events encourage brothers to interact with each other and members of other organizations without the influence of alcohol. Always well attended, each event improves the chapter’s relations with the University as well as other Greek Organizations on campus.
In early April, the Brothers of Phi Lambda Theta traveled to the R.B. Winter State Park with members of the Delta Gamma Sorority for an afternoon of hiking. The brothers and sisters in attendance were able to interact outside the normal social scene at Bucknell while also experiencing the wilderness (on a beautiful sunny day) and getting some exercise.
In addition to the hiking event, the brothers of PLT have hosted multiple dinners, movie nights, and study hours with the various sororities on campus. These events are always very well attended, and sororities have even began requesting to participate in such events with the brothers before we have a chance to approach them.
Hosting gatherings like these solidifies PLT’s social status on campus: We are an organization that positively contributes to the social scene and a place to which sorority women can feel comfortable coming. Chapter leadership is already planning events for next semester that will continue to improve our chapter as well as Bucknell as a whole.
