The recruitment efforts of the Brotherhood this fall semester were again very successful. Rush began the first week of classes in the fall with opening round events hosted at the chapter house such as trivia night and the ever-popular “Food on a Stick Appreciation Night”. The chapter saw hard work pay off after the first round ranking near the top for meal bid preferences. The start of meal bids saw the brothers sharing wings and burgers while getting to know all the potential new members. After six days of formal recruitment, Chi Phi had received the highest numbers of first preferences of all chapters on campus. While meeting with our national advisor in November, Bucknell’s Assistant Director of Fraternity Affairs described Phi Lambda Theta as one of the most desirable chapters on campus.
In continuing with Phi Lambda Theta traditions, the brothers actively recruited a diverse group of gentlemen with many different majors and backgrounds that will continue Chi Phi’s trend of excellence. As with every recruitment season, the Brotherhood continued to search for those who will not only benefit from Chi Phi but will in turn support, uphold, and exemplify the ideals of the chapter. The chapter is pleased to have now initiated 26 members whom have already shown signs of excellence that the chapter has become accustomed too. The new pledge class has contributed a new picnic table to the back porch and many of the class members have taken leadership roles both on the executive board and committee chairs for the upcoming semester following elections the past couple of weeks.
