Due to strict curriculum requirements, many engineering students do not get the opportunity to study abroad. The last few years, the School of Engineering has been perfecting the Engineering 290 course in order to provide students with short study abroad course that enhances the curriculum. This year, the program expanded to provide multiple three week courses, one in Argentina and Costa Rica. I was one of the lucky students accepted into the 22 day trip to Costa Rica in order to study engineering in a developing country with a focus on renewable energy....

Senior Dinner 2013

The end of the Spring Semester means many things to Bucknell students, but for graduating PLTs, few events precede the annual Senior Dinner in terms of anticipation, enjoyment, and emotion. This year, Phi Lambda Theta’s twenty-nine graduates assembled to celebrate four years of friendship, memories, and brotherhood over a delicious dinner at the Temperance House. Chapter Alumni Launch Major Fundraising Campaign

PLT Wins Big at National Congress

On the third weekend in July, the 147th Chi Phi congress was held in Atlanta, Georgia. The brothers of Phi Lambda Theta went in full force with six active brothers and two alumni that made the trip down south. Amongst us were Andrew Hendrickson ‘13, Scott Watza ‘13, Mark Paleafico ‘13, Robby Holler ‘13, Will Evans ‘14, Matt Argiro ‘14, Adam Andersen ‘10, and Tom Deans ‘55. The weekend was full of Congress sessions, committee meetings, and social events....

2012 Senior Dinner

This past semester, Phi Lambda Theta had a total of 28 graduating seniors. To congratulate the class of 2012 for their continued participation and services to the fraternity, we held our annual senior send off dinner at the Lewisburg Hotel. The night was full of laughter and emotion as the seniors told their stories about brotherhood and friendship. On one instance, a brother described a story where he was traveling through Spain during a semester abroad....

New Chapter Advisor

Phi Lambda Theta is undergoing a few major changes at Bucknell. Recently, our faculty advisor Geoff Hallett ‘10, took a job at Penn State. As a result, he will be stepping down as our advisor. We would like to thank Geoff for all of his hard work and dedication and wish him much luck with his future endeavors in State College.
Replacing Geoff will be a rather new face on Bucknell’s campus....

Chapter President Heads to China

This year, the engineering school at Bucknell organized a summer school trip to the country of China. The trip was called Engineering 290: Engineering in a Global and Societal Perspective. I was one of the lucky few that were able to go on this 22 day trip into the heart of Asia.
Our grand tour of the country took us to the major cities of Shanghai, Nanjing, Beijing, Xi’an, Chengdu, and Chongqing....

New Porch Furniture

One of the new major improvements made to the house was the addition of scarlet and blue Adirondack chairs for the back porch of the house. These new chairs are incredibly sturdy and match the Chakett hanging above them. The addition of these new chairs has increased the usage of the back porch tremendously.
