New Porch Furniture

One of the new major improvements made to the house was the addition of scarlet and blue Adirondack chairs for the back porch of the house. These new chairs are incredibly sturdy and match the Chakett hanging above them. The addition of these new chairs has increased the usage of the back porch tremendously. Rising senior brother Nick Pistone ’13 said, “There really isn’t a time during the day once work ends that the porch is not in use. It definitely was one of the best investments Phi Lambda Theta has made to date.”
For the Fourth of July, the brothers living at the house this summer extended their hospitality to the rest of campus in typical Phi Lambda Theta fashion. An invitation was extended via Facebook and Message Center inviting all of those people on campus who did not have a place to go for the Fourth of July to come and barbeque with the brothers of Phi Lambda Theta. Despite the heat that day, over 100 burgers and hot dogs were grilled up using the charcoal grill outside.
Around 30 guests came to enjoy the day, including faculty and students. While they ate a classically American meal of burgers and hot dogs some took advantage of the horseshoes pits behind the house to relax and enjoy the day. Others took in the beautiful view of campus from the porch, and still others simply gathered around the grill to talk and to take in the atmosphere that the Chi Phi’s present were happy to provide.
